Idea

Murmansk. Red line. The main idea of the project is to leave all the trees and greenery on the site, to use the existing conditions, taking into account the climate, topography and coastline. During the study of the territory, it became obvious that this park should connect two microdistricts - the northern and southern parts, in order to simultaneously become a transit and a core.


Project

Objective of the project: 1. Creating a link between two clusters - a bridge with different scenarios. 2. Organization of routes for running, skiing, jogging. 3. Creation of sports grounds for schoolchildren, two schools nearby. 4. Covering the pipeline located on the left side of the site. 5. Creation of the core - the Summer Theatre. 6. Solarium area - an area with lamps that emit sunlight. 7. Creation of a playground. 8. Use of the existing lake and creation of a public space around, with the possibility of using it as an ice rink in winter. 9. Designing dog playgrounds.
The concept is to use shapes taken from a map of the area near Murmansk and create clusters with these shapes, also reminiscent of ancient images on stones. Also, the idea is to use colorful patterns for people's playgrounds and rest areas to have bright, backlit spaces. The park consists of different areas for different categories of users, which are connected by paths for jogging and skiing. Entrances to the park are located on four sides; parking in the same places.
The bridge is the core of the project, which connects all parts of the park and dominates the area. It will be a point of attraction for the surrounding area. The main idea is to create a cluster that would work on an urban scale, bringing together and inviting people to relax and spend their free time doing sports or walking.
